Indianapolis in 1857L: The E. C. Atkins & Co. became a recognized American name in sawmaking. From Silver Steel saws and the new band saw blade line we introduce as a new generation of woodworking blades, the revived Atkins name is being brought forward for today’s craftsmen.

1857

E. C. Atkins establishes his saw business in Indianapolis.

1885

E. C. Atkins & Co. is incorporated.

EARLY 1900s

A leading manufacturer of hand saws, circular saws, band saws and tools.

1914

Atkins catalogs list locations in the U.S., Canada, Paris and Sydney.

1952

E. C. Atkins & Co. is acquired by Borg-Warner.

1960s

The Indianapolis factory closes. Operations later move to Mississippi.

TODAY

The Atkins name is revived for a new generation of woodworkers.
